A note from Mrs. Valenzuela
Hi! My name is Mandy Valenzuela. I grew up in Cardiff and went to junior high and high school in Encinitas. I feel so incredibly blessed to be part of such a fantastic school district and team of teachers here at Mission Estancia.
This is my eleventh year in education, my 10th year teaching in Encinitas, and my 4th year at Mission Estancia. I am so excited to be working in 2nd grade with Mrs. Wright!!! We were partners 3 years ago and it was one of my favorite years teaching in Encinitas!
Throughout my ten years in this district, I was a part of the GATE cohort 3 years in a row and a part of the Writing Cohort for 2 years. This past summer I put together curriculum for the new 2nd grade Science standards. I love to learn and I feel confident, prepared, and motivated to pass on my passion for education to your children. My goal is to build a positive classroom community where each child feels both valued and safe. I strive to meet the individual learning needs of all students so that each child reaches his/her full potential. I hope to make school as fun as possible to instill a love of learning within my students.
Our family had a fantastic summer! My boys and I went to Texas to visit my beautiful sister and family. We love them so much and they boys had so much fun with their cousins. Our family also spent a week in Mexico fishing and playing around n the water. My husband and I celebrated our thirteenth wedding anniversary as well! We spent a lot of time at the beach, pool, and playing with friends. We also had a blast hiking, exploring, and enjoying all of the many parks around town.
While not at school, I may be found vacationing with my family because I LOVE TO TRAVEL, going to the beach, hiking, doing yoga, playing games, or reading. I love to stay active and be outside. I also enjoy meeting friends at Starbucks, playing soccer, dancing, running with my dog, and enjoying every moment with my beautiful sons Kai and Kody, my amazing husband Nick, and the best doggie in the world, Lani!
